"Rajorshi" is a historical novel written by Rabindranath Tagore. This is the story of the king of Tripura named Maharaja Govinda Manikya. He had ordered a ban on animal sacrifice all over his kingdom. The head priest at that time, Raghupati, did not agree with the king's decision and decided to teach him a lesson.

 

Raghupati plotted king's murder with the help of king's younger brother Nakshatra Ray. When the plot failed, the priest with the help of Nakshatra Ray formed an alliance with Mughal king and attacked Tripura.
